SS Peter & Paul Mitcham

SS Peter and Paul is one of eight parishes within the Merton Deanery.  The parishes are:

 

• SS. Peter & Paul, Mitcham

• St. John Fisher, Merton

• Christ the King, Wimbledon Park

• St. Joseph’s, Colliers Wood

• Sacred Heart, Wimbledon

• St. Winefride’s, South Wimbledon

• Our Lady of the Assumption, Tooting

• St. Teresa’s, Morden

Canon John Clarke, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Wimbledon, was appointed Dean of Merton after the death of Fr. John Mulligan in September 2018.

 

As a result of a very successful two-week mission organised in the churches and Catholic schools of the Merton Deanery in 2013, a continuing Merton Deanery Mission team was established with representatives from each parish.

 

This Team has become the Deanery Pastoral Group and meets regularly. Over the past year much of the action of the Deanery Pastoral Group has been based upon outcomes of the Liverpool Eucharistic Congress and encouraging Eucharistic Adoration in the parishes of the Deanery. In more recent meetings work has been undertaken to support parish representatives in promoting the 'Year of the Word' within parishes.
